I’ll See You in a While

I start my way down Pocono Street

My tears remember that winter day.

It was a boy baby that I would meet

This is the street where he used to play.

Watching you suffer was hard for me

Many times I just wanted to breathe for you.

The arduous journey, doctors to see

But we know where you are, He loves you too.

Your favorite song was Wee Little Man

Early with mom at church and first grade.

One step, one breath, one chance - God Can

In your new home, you now have it made.

You skateboard ollies are effortless now

You jump, you spin, go ahead - be bold.

Just looking around you can't see how

Streets flooded with tears are now paved with gold.

You saw me and nodded, squeezed my hand - Goodbye.

That's when I happened to notice you smile.

There's no explanation, no need to try

That's how you said, "I'll see you in a while."
